Doctors Response :Vaginal discharge is not uncommon in pregnancy and it is referred to as leukokorrhea of pregnancy. However, forms of discharge resulting from infections such as candiidiasis may occur. Candiidiasis is a fungal infection caused by yeast and usual presents as a cheesy or whitish discharge which may also be itchy. The other may be vaginosis which is caused by Bacterial vaginosis and this presents as a copious whitish or yellowish discharge which is copious and has a foul smelling other but not itchy.
Bacterial vaginosis may result in preterm delivery. It is therefore important that you visit an Obstetrician with your wife who will evaluate your wife and manage the vaginal discharge and her pregnancy appropriately.
