Question:I have been following up with your site with the hope that someday someone will ask questions which are related to my issues. My doctor said I need to reduce my weight to be able to get pregnant. I have sisters who are more heavier than me and they have children. While is my own different.?

Doctors Response: Your weight which also determine your body mass index is an important factor in reproduction. Obesity which is a body mass index of 30kg/m2 and above is known to have a negative effect on ovulation. About 50% of obese females have polycystic ovaries which also affects fertility. I will encourage you visit a fertility expert to evaluate you and spouse for other factors i.e assess your fallopian tubes and your partner’s sperm.
