Is There a Limit to the Number of Caesarean Delivery One Can Have?

Question: I had my 2 children through caesarean section. Really wish to get pregnant again but my doctor has advised me against it. I have friends who have had 3 and 4 caesarean deliveries. Is there really a limit to the number of caesarean delivery one can have?
Doctors  ‎Response:

Caesarean section is a surgical procedure in which an incision is made on the abdomen and uterus to deliver the baby(ies) and placenta(e) after age of viability (28weeks for us in sub-Saharan Africa). The risk with this procedure, in addition to hemorrhage, infection, injury to bowel and bladder is adhesion. Adhesion means organs become matted or stuck together. Defining the plane in subsequent caesarean deliveries become difficult and increases the risk of the other complications earlier mentioned. On this basis, obstetrician in our region will counsel women to limit the number of caesarean deliveries to 4. However, in developed countries where anti adhesion barriers are readily available, no limit is set on the number of caesraen delivery an individual may have.
