Question: I have heavy menstrual flow and my tummy is big. My friends think I am pregnant. My GP said that I have huge fibroid and will need a surgery. My worry is that he said the incision on my tummy will be obvious at the end of the surgery. This gives me concern as it may affect my career. Is there anything I can do because I don’t want such scars on my tummy.
Doctors Response: Your GP will need to refer you to a Gynaecologist who may need to place you on some treatment to help shrink the fibroids to a size amenable to a bikini incision. Your pants will be able to cover the scar that may result from this. The initial treatment will also help reduce your heavy menstrual flow.
