I have a dry mouth disease that makes eating difficult for me

Question: I have a dry mouth disease that makes eating difficult for me I have resulted to taking water all the time which is becoming disturbing. Please  Dr,how can my condition be improved.

..Xerostomia (Dry mouth) is a symptom,not a disease entity and can be temporary,reversible or permanent. The elderly are most affected due to a higher incidence of medication usage and compromised health from disease. Important causes are: irradiation, salivary gland infection,drugs(anti histamine,anti emetics,anti hypertensives) ,oral habit like mouth breathing. Management of this condition requires proper diagnosis of the cause. Dietary counselling, regular prophylaxis among others will be discussed ‎.
