Sexual intercourse is an interesting and fun filled experience. Sex is meant to be enjoyed by both partners. However, it is not sexual engagements that do end in enjoyment or being pleasurable, one of the factors that make sex a one side experience is when the male partner ejaculates early when the female has not even started enjoying the act.

Premature ejaculation is a male sexual disorder characterized by sexual climax in male under just one or two seconds into the sexual intercourse. It is not only painful to the female partner who might not have been stimulated enough to enjoy the sex but also embarrassing to the male partner who feels a sense of weakness and inability to last longer in bed.

Not until recently, premature ejaculation was never considered a serious medical condition. It has since been recognized as a form of sexual dysfunction that can adversely affect the quality of a man’s sex life.

Recurring ejaculation: one that occurs before sexual penetration has been achieved or within a minute of penetration
Rapid ejaculation: occurs when the man is unable to delay ejaculation each time or most time he penetrates.
Self inflicted premature ejaculation: occurs when there are negative personal problems such as distress, frustration and avoidance of sexual intimacy.

 

 

Causes
The causes of premature ejaculation could be psychological and medical.

The psychological factors are:
Inadequate sexual experience and knowledge
Hyper sexual stimulation
Newness of the relationship
High expectation and excitement
Stressful relationship
Anxiety or anxiousness to have sex
Feeling of guilt
Depression
On the other hand, medical causes of premature ejaculation include:
Damage to the nervous system
Diabetes
Multiple sclerosis
Prostate disease
High blood pressure
Thyroid problems or disorder
Drug abuse
Too much alcohol consumption
Symptoms
The major symptom of premature ejaculation is when the man ejaculates early than the partners’ desire.
Dissatisfaction and frustration leading to distress
Depression
Loss of confidence in the relationship
Anxiety
Embarrassment
Diagnosis
No known test can be used to diagnosed premature ejaculation. The underlying cause of the condition may have to be properly diagnosed and treated to improve the sexual disorder.
The doctor may ask the patients some questions relating to their experience after which the doctor will be able to offer best treatment options.
Treatments
Counseling may be sought from a sexual therapist and counselor who can give useful advice to the patients.
Use some antidepressant drugs to relieve stress and depression.
Use anesthetic cream to reduce stimulation
