Heavy flow which occurs biweekly occurring during your perimenopausal phase may suggest a uterine pathology. A transvaginal scan with both endometrial biopsy and cervical screen is advised. Breast cancer during the post menopausal phase is not unusual. What you need is a daily breast examination and once yearly mammogram  if you are above 35yrs or breast scan if you are less than 35yrs. Perimenopausal phase may last for up to 3-5yrs.
